Eastern Montana Sky

What is the first picture that pops up in your mind when you think about Montana? For many its the mountains covered in evergreens, abundant with wildlife, and more populated. For me and others from the eastern part of the state its the rolling plains, beautiful sunsets that light up the entire sky in fascinating colors, and not a person for as far as you can see.

Through this class I hope be able to take pictures of the beauty of Eastern Montana. Knowing that many of my pictures will be taken at the refuge just 15 minutes from my house and the land that surrounds my hometown I decided to take a look for pictures that have been taken in Eastern Montana.

The Howard siblings published the book Eastern Montana that captures the beauty of the east side of the state. In the fallowing link they have a few of the pictures from the eastern part, and I hope to be able to capture the beauty like they did. One thing that pretty much all of these pictures have in common is the sky. It is always very large and beautiful, really adding to each picture.
